Bad news, we have just been told that today’s stage of the
Dakar has been cancelled due to snow on the high pass from Argentina, we decide
to still head up the ‘Japanese Road’ just outside Caldera to find the bivouac near
Copiapo to at least catch some of the atmosphere.
After a couple of hours wait Marc Coma arrives at the bivouac, what a shame we could not see them racing.
Nani Roma in his Mini, funny I don’t remember them being
this big.
Quite a crowd has collected in the middle of the desert, it’s
time for us to leave as we want to make another 150km towards Santiago, we aim
for Vallenar & pass a lot more of the competitors on the way.
